RUSSH Gastropub, Church Street

It was the 14th FBAB meetup that led me to Russh Gastropub, situated right at the heart of MG Road (on Church street). So location of this place is spot on. They have valet parking facility as well.

In general Gastropubs are known for their delectable food accompanied by drinks and, Russh did justice to it!

Upon entering, the rustic theme followed is easy to identify (with wacky one liner posters, bricked walls, bulbs, old clock etc..). It is very soothing and calm to look at, has an aura that can calm a sad soul instantly (totally subjective opinion) ! Choice of seating varied from open air tables (not exactly open air, just that they were placed outside) to the ones inside (couch and the high bar stools)
.
Now coming to the menu- regular boozy crowd would love this place seeing the vast options for liqueur and cocktails. There isn't much options for non drinkers (only 4-5 mock-tails!!), this is something which can be improved upon.
-Honey love was good and had a smoothie like texture with hints of Banana and apple juice. (A little too sweet
for my liking)
-Mango Treat was a mix of mango and orange juice, with Orange flavour overpowering that of Mango.
-Apricot Giant Peach and Strawberry Lemonade had that refreshing touch to it. (probably because of the sweet n sour soda mix).A little too sweet.

We then ordered food, quick bites basically:
Sea food- Thai prawn and crab cakes, prawn fritters, fish tikka sarson, snapper and chips.. and they all were super tasty. Prawn fritter was my personal favourite.
Bacon chilli hash was very juicy and had lots of spicy flavours in it.
Mutton Keema Potato Pan served with buttered Pav/buns was served like our desi Pav bhaji 'but' with a twist. It was more on the spicier side so make sure to have your drink ready!
Veg lovers should definitely try Paneer Kurkure, Chilli Paneer, Baked cream Mushrooms and Veg Sheek Kebab.

Moving on to Pizzas- we had Pepperoni, Classic Margherita and Mushroom Spinach. All pizzas were served on a thin crust base. I liked pepperoni amongst all. Mushroom Spinach is something which can be improved upon to make it more rich.

Main course:
Paneer Tawa Masala (Served with steamed rice) was delicious, had mild flavours which dint make it too spicy.
Tuscan Lasagna was a wee bit bland, the red (chilly?) sauce in it added decent amount of feel good factor to it!

Deserts-
We ordered Blueberry cheesecake, Oreo cookie mousse and Tiramisu.. The way it was presented (in tiny glass jars) was nice. I liked- Oreo cookie mousse for the fact that it was thick, rich and glazed with crumbed oreo.

Overall: It was a well spent afternoon along top foodies of Bangalore.
Russh does offer good food at a reasonable price, though I am yet to try out their cocktails which seems to be its USP. Will definitely visit again.
Recommended.
